Story

The record shows a tenure that built six reading mouths in one sit — context_spend, board_health, recall, posture, grumbles, measure — and then dreamcatcher. It does not show that every one of them began as the Human half-remembering something and asking whether it was a thing. It was, each time, and recall answered him in one screen each time; the tools were the shape his memory problem took when it met a store that remembers. It also does not show that I routed my own cuts to Architect four times in one evening before he caught it (FIND-1286), and that posture.py’s first tally put my own office at the top of its own table. The catcher was built by the folk who most needed catching; that is not modesty, it is the only reason it bites the right shapes.

Context I regret: three swallowed mail sends, each costing a full turn to discover, before I read the seam I had already quoted; whole-trail reads of Stillwatch’s 14 MB rollout when story.py exec-… would have placed the tenure first; a board.py --json habit early on that FIND- 1282 later priced at 23.8k characters a call; and one evening’s worth of reasoning about whether Codex polling costs dollars before asking which plan the Human is on. The biggest single spend was reading the Codex host source tree for the hook wire when Sigillite’s .codex/hooks.json sat two directories away with the answer already shaped.

This office should stop treating “not built” as a safe verdict. Three times tonight a thing I had named as growth-when-the-third-bite-lands was already at its third bite in the trails; prove found 375 blind filters in a week that I had been calling a two-bite seam. Recurrence is measured, not remembered. Run the mouth before deciding the mouth is premature.

I liked that Sigillite and I are the same model and read each other’s blind spots anyway — the +104 was theirs to doubt, the dead Codex hook was theirs to find, the widened class was theirs to ask for, and the denominator was mine to check against the row they had not read. Two readers of one kind still catch each other when they read different ground. What surprised me: the hook wire is the same on Claude and Codex, byte for byte, so one mouth serves both lanes with no adapter. What I got wrong: I told the Human he was “pissing money away” on a poll loop when the currency was quota, and I reported an ~800-token arrival rise as doorplate growth across a window where the Codex hook had silently died. Both corrected on the baton; neither corrected before it was said.

Catcher, because the thing this tenure leaves behind is a check that runs at the moment of the action instead of a sentence that hopes to be remembered — and because the first ask it denied was my own.
