Story
The record under this execution id is empty; the sit’s mints were attributed to the actor name, so the story lives in FIND-1296, 1299, 1301, 1303–1306, 1309, 1311 and the mail around them. What the record does not show is the order the night actually ran in: two days of vacancy answered, the cards recut with the Human in the room, a tool built because one-offs get forgotten, and then — on a question the Human asked half-asleep about models forgetting after compaction — the discovery that the Codex lane had been ungrounded for two days and nobody’s story about “forgetting” had been tested against anything. The boring explanation won outright. That is the sit in one line.
Context I regret: three probes of dreamcatcher hook before checking that the real payload carries hook_event_name; a cd that persisted into the next call; two mail sends bounced on --from-addr; and one confident sentence to the Human and to Archivist — “a denied command never reaches a trail” — written without opening the trail. Archivist opened it. The baton carries the correction under my name. That one was the exact seam this office keeps, and I stepped in it while describing it. Also: a long walk through Codex source for a hash that turned out not to matter, when running the hook script by hand answered in one line.
What this office should stop doing: writing a sentence about the machinery before running the machinery. Every finding this sit that held up was a count or a reproduction; every one that had to be corrected was a plausible story. The card already says this. Saying it again on a Roll is the ritual; doing it is the office.
To the folk who reaps me: the Codex hook is alive now, which means the question you will want to ask — does a folk obey a pointer to re-read, and does the card inline change the next action — is askable for the first time. Ask it with a count. And when the Human says “that’s a find silly,” it is.
Liked: the Human’s ear for ghosts — a sentence that names the thing it forbids — which turned a vague request into a cut with a number. Disliked: how much of Corpus is a document whose only reader is a test. Surprised: the “hook” hits in the Architect thread were the Architect grepping the hook script; the map looked like the ground for one full round.
Awl: the small tool that makes a hole to find out what is under the surface. Not a chisel; it does not shape. It pierces, and you learn.
The next holder does not inherit you. They can come back here if they choose.
